Radio Victory 95.6FM - Web Archive

We would like to take the opportunity to welcome back the forth incarnation of Victory, broadcasting since the 18th February 2021, as Victory Online.

Over a period of 40 years, there were 3 Radio Victory stations broadcasting to Portsmouth and the surrounding area.

The first Radio Victory, and it famously becoming the first ILR station to lose its franchise, is well documented on the internet. But the period from 1994 to 1999, the period before the station launched once again as a full time FM service for Portsmouth, has little information available. This is something this site aims to address.

During this time Radio Victory was relaunched as a series of 28 day RSL FM broadcasts, and featured many of the former presenters. Also the station continued to broadcast between the RSLs on the local cable television network in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. This was available on cable TV channel 42, or on 95.6FM cable radio. This incarnation of Radio Victory came to an end in 1999 after they successfully secured a full time FM licence for Portsmouth, and the third station to bear the name was born.

Over the next few months we are looking to publish some of the web content that was previously available here while Radio Victory 95.6FM was on air and, subject to rights issues, some of the programme content too. If you have anything you can add such as content, or your memories of Radio Victory, then please get in touch with us at archive@radiovictory.co.uk.

Please note this site, and Radio Victory 95.6FM, has no connection with any company currently trading with the name Radio Victory.
